Emerald & Doreen go Mexico & celebrate an Indie hit. Dead Sea Captains basically are a duo, consisting in Jorge Flores and Anita de Mattis. Both met in Mexico City however she’s from Lisbon while Jorge stems from Pachuca, Mexico. He writes the songs and always wants to have a line between his love for alternative rock and electronica. He loves everything from Blur to Apparat or New Order to Pavement, never really making any distinction. So the tracks on their Emitter EP Kjesus!, All these leaves, Iridescent Lights, LX and Runnin form a caleidoscope of the pre-techno new wave era of the 1980s. „Kjesus” melts the love of New Wave and Electronica that is characteristic to the Dead Sea Captains with some nonchalant, childlike vocals. Bathe your bass in chorus water, old chap! Any hit needs its variations, already the classical composers knew. That’s why we picked up „Kjesus“ as our first Remixes EP to go along with the main release and are proud to be able to feature some real classics from great artists.

Hi-Rate Discoteer Copycat takes the track to the House of the happy happy drumbeat, getting lost in the groove. Dansoul sexes it all up with a flashy e-bass, while Iñigo Vontier is transporting the rhythm on the funky train with Giorgio in ’78 feelings. Then there is this inhaling version by Chromatic Dream. Jam Couché dances to an Italo Disco that is located somewhere in Scandinavia, while Felipe S relaxes on a groovy downbeat, hailing from his beach towel on Brasilian beaches. There also is a great funky diamond reshape of another Dead Sea Captains track, „All these leaves“ by our residents go nogo and a minimal ambient chill interpretation by Mars Neko. Lots of enjoyment for you, dear followers and supporter we think!

gonogo – This is probably my favorite release by E&D. Overall a splendid Band to dig – love the mix of the girl’s subcooled voice with the slightly skewed pimp-like singing of the guy. A bunch of great versions of Kjesus – I especially dig the light vibe and the chords in Copycat’s rendidition. Also Felipe’s very musical transition with the great drummer vibe. Very well produced… and for my part, well, the go nogo version is equally Dance as it is Indie, but what are labels these days anyway!

Karim – Runnin, Kjesus (Felipe Sa Extended Reshape) are my favorites :) )) Full support !!

Get them on Juno and Beatport as well.
